JOANA GOMES

Joana Gomes (1986, Portugal). 
The artist lives and works in Lisbon. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting at FBAUL (Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon). She has worked in museums and galleries as a production assistant and museum guide, notably at the Baginski Gallery and MUDE. She undertook an internship at Carpe Diem – Art and Research. She has contributed to publications and conference series, notably the most recent publication *Investigação nas Artes – Oscilação dos métodos* (Research in the Arts – Oscillation of Methods), edited by Fernando Rosa Dias and José Quaresma, published by Universitas Olisiponensis and FCT. 
She is a co-founder of the Tempos de Vista Collective and the Atelier Contencioso Collective, which organise site-specific cultural programmes. She has held several solo exhibitions and taken part in group exhibitions, most recently “E o perú fugiu” (2025), at the Carpintarias de São Lázaro, Lisbon; and “A arte chegou ao Colombo” with the Atelier Contencioso Collective (for which she won the prize) at the Berardo Collection Museum, Lisbon.
The works in the Galeria Belo-Galsterer’s collection are from his solo exhibition DOUBLE POETICS (2018/2019).
